THE FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY BOOK
How to create Affiliate Links
What is it? You earn 50% of every sale of The Food Photography Book when someone buys it by clicking on one of your affiliate links which you can embed into images OR text. Even better, they don’t have to buy it straight away! The affiliate cookie lasts 6 months so if someone comes back within 6 months, you still get 50% of the sale!
START EARNING COMMISSIONS IN 2 EASY STEPS
1. Join the Affiliate Program and get your affiliate code
2. Embed your affiliate code on your blog in text and images. Use your own images or the official The Food Photography Book ads (get them here – scroll to the bottom).
Step 1. JOIN THE AFFILIATE PROGRAM
1. Join the Affiliate Program – Click here to join the affiliate program in E-junkie (free) which is the company I use to manage the sale of The Food Photography Book as well as the Affiliate Program. This is a world renowned company for e-commerce so you can be sure it is secure and reliable.
You will be prompted to create an account, if you do not already have one.
2. Activate your E-junkie account. You will receive an activation code from E-junkie in an email. Copy that into the required field in E-junkie, then click “Activate”.
3. Payment Details – you will then be taken to the screen below. Input your Paypal Account Email. You must have a PaypalAccount in order to join the Affiliate program as that is how you will be paid. If you do not have an account, join here (it’s free).
4. Select The Food Photography Book Program – Once your E-junkie account is activated, go to Affiliate Admin. Then in the dropdown box, select RecipeTin Eats.
If you do not see RecipeTin Eats as an option, refresh the page or click here to reopen E-junkie so it refreshes the page.
5. Get the Code – scroll down a bit and you will get a dropdown box. Select The Food Photography Book. Then click in the Product Hop Link code to highlight the text, then copy it (Laptops/PC: Control + C, Mac Command + C).
This is the code you will embed in text and images to ensure that anytime anyone clicks on your link or image that you get 50% of the sale as commission. See below for a step by step guide.
Step 2. EMBEDDING LINKS ON YOUR BLOG
You can use the code you get from E-junkie to create links for text and images on your blog. The images can be on the sidebar – like ads – or anywhere else within your blog.
I encourage you to use both text and images to maximise your potential for earning a commission of 50% for every sale. And you can use this code as often as you want. The more you use it, and the more frequently you use it, the greater the potential for earnings.
Here are 3 ways to embed affiliate links on your blog.
1. Affiliate Links in text
As you write your blog posts, or if you create a page especially to talk about how you improved your food photography using The Food Photography Book, make sure you embed the affiliate link where you can!
Here’s how to do it. The code you get from E-junkie will look like this. The default text that E-junkie provides is “Click here to view more details” which is highlighted in red below.
<a href=”https://www.e-junkie.com/ecom/gb.php?ii=1447837&cl=280065&c=ib&aff=301443″ target=”ejejcsingle”>Click here to view more details</a>
Wherever you want to embed the affiliate link into text, go into Text Mode for your post (I presume you are ordinarily in Visual mode) (Step 1 in image below).
Then paste the code in where you want it (Step 2). If you do not change the default text, it will appear with “Click here to view more details”. You can change it to whatever you want (Step 3).
In this example, I change it to “Find out more about the book that transformed my photography!”.
When you switch back to Visual mode, you will see that text and it will be linked to E-junkie. So anytime someone clicks on that link and buys the book within 6 months, you will get a commission of 50%!
Psst! Using those same steps you can embed that text into anywhere in any of your posts! Whether you create a page especially to talk about your experience with the book with before and after images, or when you are doing posts and you mention your food photography, drop in the affiliate link wherever you can. Consistency and frequency really makes a difference with affiliate links – plus it drives home the authenticity of your recommendation of The Food Photography Book.
CONGRATULATIONS! Your affiliate link is now set up!
Tip: Keep the code handy somewhere on your desktop. That’s what I do for affiliate links I use regularly.
2. Affiliate Links in Images
You can also use the affiliate link for images like the ads on the sidebar, footer etc on your blog OR for any images in posts and pages on your blog.
Don’t forget – you can use any image you want! You don’t have to use the graphics I creased for The Food Photography Book.
There are two ways you can install images onto your blog like ads – using either the Image Widget or the Text Widget. The Text Widget will allow you to play around more with positioning, borders etc. but is slightly more complicated to use.
2a. Image Widget (easiest)
1. Choose Image – Choose one (or more!) of the official The Food Photography Book ads from here (scroll to bottom) and download it onto your computer.
2. Insert Widget – Go to your WordPress admin, Appearance > Widgets. Find the Image Widget, click on it then from the dropdown box, choose where you want the image to be. I chose the Sidebar for this example.
3. Insert Image – Click on Select an Image, navigate to where the image is and add it like you would any other photo for your blog. Click Insert Into Widget.
4. Insert Affiliate Code – Get the affiliate code from E-junkie. Paste it into the Link box. Delete the text highlighted in red and crossed out in the example code below.
<a href=“https://www.e-junkie.com/ecom/gb.php?ii=1447837&cl=280065&c=ib&aff=301443″ target=”ejejcsingle”>Click here to view more details</a>
So your code should look like this:
“https://www.e-junkie.com/ecom/gb.php?ii=1447837&cl=280065&c=ib&aff=301443″ target=”ejejcsingle”
5. Test Run – Click Save on the Widget, then go to your blog. You should see The Food Photography Book image in your sidebar and when you click on it, the URL will briefly flicker to E-junkie before diverting to The Food Photography Book sales page. What it is doing is registering the cookie so if the person who clicked on the link buys the book within the next 6 months, you will receive 50% commission.
CONGRATULATIONS! Your affiliate link is now set up!

2b. Text Widget
I use text widgets for all my own images in my sidebar because it allows me to change the positioning and space between each widget. It is slightly more complicated than using an Image Widget, but once you’ve done it, it is a handy thing to know how to do.
Here’s how to install The Food Photography Book affiliate link using Text Widgets.
1. Choose Image – Choose one (or more!) of the official The Food Photography Book ads from here (scroll to the bottom) and download it onto your computer.
2. Add Text Widget – Go to your WordPress admin, Appearance > Widgets. Find the Text Widget, click on it then from the dropdown box, choose where you want the image to be. I chose the Sidebar for this example.
3. Insert clickable image code – paste this code into the widget. :
<div align="center" style="margin-top: 10px">
<a href="INSERT YOUR E-JUNKIE CODE" title="The Food Photography Book" target="_blank"><img nopin="nopin" src="INSERT THE IMAGE URL" alt="The Food Photography Book | By Nagi from RecipeTin Eats" /></a>
Click Save, and you’re done!
See below for how to prepare your E-Junkie Code and find the Image URL.
Tips: You can change the “margin-top: 10px” to whatever you want – this controls the spacing between widgets. And I made this image non-pinnable with the code [nopin=”nopin”] so it doesn’t appear as a pinning option when someone pins a post from your blog. Less clutter!
How To Prepare E-junkie code
Get your E-junkie code. It will look something like this. DELETE the text in red.
<a href=“https://www.e-junkie.com/ecom/gb.php?ii=1447837&cl=280065&c=ib&aff=301443″ target=”ejejcsingle“>Click here to view more details</a>
So your code should look like this:
“https://www.e-junkie.com/ecom/gb.php?ii=1447837&cl=280065&c=ib&aff=301443″ target=”ejejcsingle”
Paste this in the where it says “INSERT YOUR E-JUNKIE CODE“.
How To Find Image URL
Upload The Food Photography Book image to your Media Library. Then go to Media > Library and find the image. Click on Edit, then find the File URL box. Highlight the code – that is the code for the image.
Paste this in the where it says “INSERT THE IMAGE URL“.
