Request a recipe!
I spend an inordinate amount of time deciding which recipes to share.
My biggest problem is that there are so many recipes I want to share, things that get me doing the jiggy because it’s so good but then before I dash off to film and photograph the recipe, I pause and think – will my readers get excited about this too?? Will they really go and try this?
It’s always interesting when I publish a new recipe to see how many people read it. After 4 years of blogging (that’s middle aged in Internet terms!), you’d think I’d be able to get it right 100% of the time.
And mostly, I can.
I knew you’d love the Sticky Honey Mustard Drumsticks and go bonkers over the Pad Thai and Tikka Masala. I didn’t expect you’d be clamouring for the Quiche Lorraine or Avocado Dip, and I guessed right. 🙂
But other times, you surprise me! I did not expect such an amazing response to the Homemade Pastrami from last Friday, nor that the Garlic Butter Kale Rice would become such a firm favourite!
And after all those hours of contemplating what recipes I think you want, it finally dawned on me: Why don’t I ask you??
DUH!
And so, here we are. Finally – because it took me so ridiculously to arrive at this point – FINALLY I’m asking you:
WHAT RECIPES DO YOU WANT ME TO SHARE?
Drop your requests in the comments section below!
Be as specific or as general as you want. I just ask 2 simple things:
-
Please do a quick little Search to see if I’ve already shared it!
-
No banana anything! It’s the only normal thing I can’t stand. Awful, smelly, slimy things that they are!?
{UPDATE: Scroll to the top for a list of requested recipes that I have published!}
I obviously can’t promise that I’ll share every recipe requested, being that I’m just one person who does need to sleep on occasion! But I’ll certainly share the most requested ones, and I’ll regularly pop back here when I’m planning my recipe calendar.
LIFE OF DOZER
Hairdresser appointments are always extremely productive – I get my highlights and make recipe videos. Dozer gets his pats.

Hi Nagi, stuffed potatoes would be good thank you

General Tso’s Chicken! I can get the chicken fried correctly, but I can never find a sauce that tastes anything like what I can get at takeout. I feel like I’ve tried every sauce out there and nothing’s right.
Lily says
Profiterole recipe with an interesting filling would be awesome!
Leah says
Hi Nagi,
I’m wondering if you have a recipe for chicken Dim Sims? I don’t eat pork & I can very rarely find chicken dim sims available around my area & CRAVE them terribly! I’ve never tried making my own & would love to be able to! 🙂

Hi Nagi
In the 1970’s my sister used to make a dinner party favourite. I don’t know what it was called, and she is no longer with us for me to ask. But it was tender chunks of beef, and the sauce was a reddish brown. It tasted like it had paprika and tomato paste. The only thing I can come up with is a type of Hungarian Paprika Beef stew.
We used to have it with rice. No other vegies with it, just the beef with the sauce.
It was amazing, and I wish I could replicate it. If you could help that would be great

How about goulash?
Nagi says
I think that’s it! 🙂

Jenny says
Maybe Hungarian goulash.

Hi Nagi
Love your recipes.
Would you be willing to have a go at beef
massaman? I just adore (eating) it but don’t know how to cook it.
Lily says
Hi Nagi!
What a timely post… I was just thinking last week, I wish I could ask Nagi about certain recipes… and here is your invite! :)).
So… since it’s winter time, I’d like to see braised beef brisket or braised pork shoulder recipe… similar to the myriad of recipes you have for lamb shoulder/leg :). I have tried your BBQ beef brisket recipe before which is excellent, but hoping to find a healthier recipe (not using as much sugar).
Thanks Nagi! Good to see Dozer getting about 🙂 xx
Nagi says
PS Try the beef pot roast using brisket, it’s really great!
Nagi says
Lily! It’s like you were reading my mind! I made a slow cooker pork shoulder a couple of days ago, it’s such a great set and forget 🙂 It’s coming soon! N x
Lily says
Yay!! Looking forward to it! I shall drool over the pot roast in the meantime 😁. Thanks!! 😊

Hi Nagi! I’d love to see a classic eggs benedict recipe! And some more great korean recipes would be amazing (like bibimbap, japchae, pajeon etc!) I’d also love to see a poké bowl recipe!! Thanks, keep up the great work 🙂
Nagi says
It’s like you read my mind! I’ve been practicing my poaching skills and testing out all sorts of “foolproof” techniques 🙂 YES to Korean, me too (I really LOVE Korean food!). I think the poke might appear on my mum’s site soon! N x

Hello Nagi,
I looooove your website & each recipe I’ve tried has become firm favorites in my house. I could rhapsodise on your meatball but I digress. As a newbie cook, it’s kinda gratifying to cook something well that isn’t instant noodles *sheepish smile*
I’m a big fan of the cooking manga ‘Oishinbo’ and one of the dishes mentioned that’s always intrigued me is something called Yuba Gratin. Also, could you give me some tips on how to incorporate tofu lees into the hambagu recipe please? Hope you’ll look kindly on my recipe/tip requests & thanks again!
Much love from a grateful newbie cook!
Yumiko Maehashi says
Hi Nicole, this is Yumiko, Nagi’s mother here. I know the manga, Oishinbo.
I recently received a query in my blog RecipeTin Japan about yuba so I bought some dried yuba sheets only a couple of days ago. I have few yuba dishes I would like to post in future. I will certainly add your request to the list.
Nicole says
Thank you! Looking forward to yoir upcoming yuba recipes. =D
Nagi says
Hi Nicole – thanks for your lovely message! I think this is more for my mother 🙂 She’s the Japanese cooking expert! I’ll let her know about this message and she’ll respond to you! N x

Nagi, your recipes are AMAZING – I LOVE THEM, THANK YOU!!
I have a question re the Homemade Pastrami without a Smoker – I do not have a Slow Cooker, what temperature would I set my oven for and would I still put it on a rack and for how long?
Nagi says
Hi Ann! I’m so pleased you enjoy my recipes, thank you for letting me know! The pastrami recipe has oven directions in the notes 🙂 N x

Many years ago I ate at a restaurant in Canada called Bhima’s Warung. I had a Mi Xao with shrimp, beef tenderloin and veggies, and a rich sauce (oyster sauce base I think). It was far and away the best restaurant meal I’ve ever had! I’ve tried to imitate it at home, but never come close! I’d love to see your take on a high-end Mi Xao!
Nagi says
Oooh! I had to look that one up, I’ve never had it before – as far as I know 🙂 I will remember this dish, when I see it I will try it then have a go at creating it at home!
Marty Pemberton says
The key to the dish is having a bed of crispy noodles, and then the noodles soak up the sauce! It really is a fantastic dish! It’s a Vietnamese dish, so hopefully you can sample a dish at a restaurant nearby! Thanks! Marty

Greetings Nagi:
My computer has been naughty…delaying my response here. However, all seems to be fine now.
I would love to try an authentic recipe for Chow Mein, Chop Suey, and Sweet and Sour recipes.
Whenever I order in a restaurant, I always try those dishes. To make then at home is not the same, not very tasty…sort of bland.
I am excited to make your Carrot soup, carrots are so healthy, I eat a lot of carrots, as well as I make all kinds of soup.
I’ve made your Chinese Noodle soup twice, was so yummy! I was never interested in Noodle soup, to even try it, Your recipe, your details and picture of the soup tempted my taste buds…Thanks,
and thanks for All That You Do Here.

Thanks Nagi or taking the time, to lead me to your published site. I tend to rush and multi task, (bad habit,) I will soon look for the recipes there.

Great memories of great food…sounds yummy! I am not familiar with that restaurant, I must watch for that recipe on a menu; while dining at an Asian restaurant.

Hi, Nagi! Today I had a sandwich at one of our local sandwich shops here in Waco, Texas. It was a steak sandwich with chimichuri sauce. It was the first time I had chimichuri anything, and I totally enjoyed it! Any chance you could teach me how to make an EASY chimichuri sauce? Please?
Nagi says
I have mine on the site! Just search for it and it will pop right up! N xx

Hi! I would like to see some recipe that dozer likes! I live alone with my dog Mia and is kind of hard to get excited about cooking any recipes. I used to like cooking for other people but now it’s just me and her. But whatever I make she always gets half. So how about some Dozer approved recipes?
Thanks!
Nagi says
Dozer likes EVERYTHING I cook! 😂 The only things I don’t give him are things with ingredients that are bad for dogs 🙂 What kind of dog is Mia? 🙂 N x

Hi Nagi
Love everything you make…..always see recipes for different styles of crab cakes here in the states, but what about an amazing Deviled crab recipe ? Can’t seem to recreate the same restaurant quality tastes I remember.
Thanks
David
Nagi says
Gosh I must confess I have never had devilled crab! I just had a google and it looks delicious. If – no, WHEN – I try it myself, I will definitely consider sharing the recipe! N x
