Get the party started and see in the New Year with some of these fabulous Party Food recipes!!
A round up of the very best Party Food recipes that I’ve shared over the years that are worthy of your New Years’ Eve Party!! Or browse the full Party Foods recipe collection at your leisure!
I love this time of the year! Quality time with family and friends, and every gathering I attend inevitably involves food. A get together without food is….just a meeting, isn’t it? 😂
So I find myself regularly digging through my stash of party food recipes to find fast, easy, make ahead recipes to take to get togethers. As I browsed through my site, I was surprised by how many Party Food recipes I’ve shared over the years!
But actually, I guess it shouldn’t be that much of a surprise because I simply blog what I make on a day to day basis in my “real life”. And regular readers know that I’m a self confessed Snack Monster.
If you have the time, have a browse through the entire Party Foods recipe collection for ideas. But for now – here are my picks for the 25 BEST Party Food Recipes on RecipeTin Eats!!
Vietnamese Rice Paper Rolls – They look great, they taste amazing and they’re (pretty) healthy! The peanut dipping sauce is sensational! These are so fabulously fresh and I’ve got a few tips to make rolling these up a breeze.
Cocktail Meatballs – soft, plump, juicy meatballs smothered in a Sweet and Sour Sauce. Devoured in minutes!!! Also: Thai Meatballs, Cheeseburger Meatballs (topped with cheese and a mii pickle!)
Cheese and Garlic Crack Bread – I can’t think of a better centrepiece for a party. Your guests will swarm to wherever you put this! Great for making ahead – just prepare it ready for baking and store it in the fridge or freezer, then pop it in the oven when you’re ready to serve. Still my most requested party food – I’ve lost count how many times I’ve been asked to make this! Also try this Pizza version!
Crispy Parmesan Roasted Potatoes – These make an amazing starter with a dipping sauce!!!
Salami Cream Cheese Rolls – These are insanely addictive!! I love how it’s made too – rolling up overlapping salami slices with a layer of cream cheese!
Smoked Salmon Appetizer Bites – no fiddly assembly to make loads, make ahead, travels well and tastes so fab!
Cheese and Bacon Potato Skins – Cheese, potato, bacon. The holy trinity of food. Also try these Mini Pizza Potato Skins!
Sausage Rolls – One of the greatest Aussie party foods ever. Full stop! Vegetarian option: Spinach Ricotta Rolls.
Stay-Crispy Movie Popcorn – Recent addition to my most In-Demand recipes! I took bags and bags of this to a gathering and everyone went mad for them. Especially the kids. The best part is that the popcorn stays crispy even after dousing with butter! (If you like your movie popcorn with a lightly sweet touch too, try my Lightly Sweet ‘n Salty Popcorn. And if it’s Christmas time, you must Christmas Popcorn Candy!)
Bucket of Prawns with Dipping Sauces! 5 different sauces provided. Doesn’t get more Aussie than a pile of unpeeled cooked prawns and dipping sauces! Including the RecipeTin Family Special dipping sauce. 😇 For a posh option, try these individual Prawn Cocktails.
Chargrilled Vegetable Platter – DIY your own vegetable antipasto! Perfect for making ahead, costs a fraction of store bought and tastes a million times better. Pair it with Herb Chilli Feta and Hummus and you have your own homemade antipasto spread. Preservative free!
Coconut Prawns/Shrimp with Thai Mango Dipping Sauce – Crispy Coconut coated prawns with a sweet / tangy dipping sauce that’s got your name ALL over it. Those prawns are outrageous – I swear I could devour the whole plate myself! More prawns great for nibbling: Asian Chilli Garlic Prawns, Garlic Prawns, Brown Butter Prawns.
Browse the entire Dip Collection (yes, this Snack Monster has shared so many dip recipes there’s an entire recipe collection of them!)
Queso Dip (Mexican Cheese Dip) – It stays silky smooth even when it cools!!! Which means you can take it to parties or outdoor gatherings and it’s still creamy and dip-able! Also see the Nachos Cheese Dip version.
Guacamole – No one can ever put their finger on it, but they just know this is better than the usual guacamole! I picked up a couple of little Chef tips so this really is a Guac like you get at really great Mexican restaurants. Plus, you’ll LOVE the tip to stop Guac from going brown! Variations: Avocado Hummus and Stays Green Avocado Sauce.
Hot Corn Dip – This is a dip that’s bursting with flavour from golden sautéed corn plus onion, garlic, peppers/capsicum, jalapeño and spices all mixed through a creamy cheesy dip…. It’s something a little different and it’s OUTRAGEOUS how addictive it is!
Bacon Dip – If you mix a ton of bacon into a creamy dip, only good things can happen. Bonus: Serve it in an edible bowl!
Hummus – A dip list is never complete without Hummus on the list! Variations: Try this Avocado Hummus, or add sun dried tomatoes, olives, artichokes or roasted peppers and blitz! Add a bit at a time until you achieve the flavour you want.
Pig Out Salsa (Chorizo, Corn, Bean Salsa) – I catered a surprise party for a friend early this year and amongst a whole table of appetisers, this was the first to go! Make it, and you’ll understand the name….😂
French Onion Dip – Made from scratch with caramelised onions, this is completely incomparable to store bought. But if time is of the essence (or if you’re feeling sentimental) try this retro 2 Minute French Onion Dip made with store bought soup mix!!
Festive Italian Cheese Log – I shared this as a Christmas Appetizer this year! But it’s a great one for any occasion. It’s like an antipasto platter, in cheese log form. Dive in with crackers or serve with knives for smearing if you’re civilised!
Spinach Artichoke Dip – If you have an artichoke-obsessed friend in your life like I do, then this one’s mandatory for you too…
Smoked Salmon Dip – Sounds a little posh!! Great way to make smoked salmon stretch further. 🙂 If you’ve ever tried store bought smoked salmon dip, the flavour of this will knock your sock off. I mean, it actually tastes of smoked salmon! 😂
Restaurant Style Salsa – Here’s a lighter alternative to all that creamy, cheesy goodness above!! This is a super easy, fresh and restaurant-style salsa, the perfect consistency for scooping up with corn chips. It takes minutes to whizz together (or make it in a mortar and pestle). So much cheaper, healthier and tastier than store bought!
Crudites Platter (that’s “Veggie Platter” in plain English) – crackers and chips are the obvious option for serving with dips. But for a healthier and irresistibly colourful option, what about putting together a Crudites Platter instead? Any veggies will go here as long as it can be dipped! I serve most raw but I cook things like asparagus, cauliflower and broccoli.
Pictured below with Hummus.
Festive Brie – A 2 minute appetizer that looks festive and is devoured in seconds! It’s like the best fondue you’ll ever have! Or try this Baked Brie with Maple Syrup and Thyme.
Herb Chilli Feta – An impressive, cost effective starter that takes minutes to make and looks so festive!
Cheese Truffles (Mini Cheese Balls) – Everything is better in mini form! These are made with your choice of cream cheese, feta or goats cheese and with plenty of coating options!
Truly Crispy Baked BUFFALO WINGS – Knock the socks off your guests when you tell them these are actually baked, not fried….These are TRULY crispy chicken wings courtesy of American’s Test Kitchen who did the hard hards for us and found the scientific way to make EASY crispy wings in the oven. These reheat wonderfully – CRISPY!
Truly Crispy Oven Baked Chicken Wings with Honey Garlic Sauce – And here’s an alternative version with a fabulous Honey Garlic Sauce!
Sticky Chinese Chicken Wings – We had these as a starter for our Recipetin Family Christmas. It wasn’t even an Asian themed menu, but we demanded these anyway because we all love them so much! Also try these Vietnamese Chicken Wings!
If you made it through that giant list – congratulations. (I think there’s a few more than 25…. 😂)
Happy New Year to you all! Thank you for another year of making this dream job possible for me. As strange as it might sound, it’s all of you who make RecipeTin Eats what it is. Reading, commenting, sharing, cooking the recipes, making me laugh and sometimes even cry with your messages. Without you, it would be very quiet and lonely around here.
Here’s to another year of great food!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! 🎉🎉🎉
